Conquering the “Everest Climb”

Imagine spending four gruelling days running 11,431 vertical feet (the equivalent to climbing Mount Everest) while battling humidity, heavy rain, and fatigue. This is exactly what LeaderImpact International Directors Ron and Margareth Carrothers did last week in Goderich, Ontario. While they enjoy outdoor activities, a run like this is not something anyone would do just for fun. So why did they endure running a 74 foot bluff 156 times, risking injury in less than ideal conditions? Because they have a passion for helping marketplace leaders across the globe understand the significance of a faith in God in their personal and professional lives, and empowering them to lead with ethical values and integrity.

LeaderImpact exists to encourage and inspire marketplace leaders to explore uncommon opportunities – experiences that help leaders live life to the full by finding significance beyond success. The LeaderImpact “Everest Climb” is an uncommon opportunity with a purpose – to inspire leaders to join us on a Global Exchange and/or invest in us to reach our goal.

Every year, Ron & Margareth lead teams of Canadian and American marketplace leaders on Global Exchanges to countries including Mexico, Colombia, Panama, and Thailand. Intensive speaker training, presentations to business leaders, company tours and exploring the local sights and culture are all part of this amazing experience. These exchanges have played an important role in impacting the lives of marketplace leaders, an impact which changes not only lives, but also entire communities. In Medellin, Colombia just three months ago, over 2500 leaders were affected by LeaderImpact training and events; over 1300 made commitments to live changed lives based on biblical principles.

Ron & Margareth’s vision is to be able to expand LeaderImpact to reach additional cities worldwide. To do this we need to increase our capacity to complete Global Exchanges. The goal is 12 Global Exchanges per year by 2018. That’s over 35,000 leaders’ lives that could be changed. That’s making an impact!
