Freaky Test: fun facts for college and university students

    Written by iamnext.com

Are you the 2% or 98% of the population?
    Follow the instructions.
(NO PEEKING AHEAD!) Free will or synaptic wiring? You be the judge.
Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow. There’s no trick or surprise.

Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can! Again, as quickly as you can but don’t advance until you’ve done each of them …. really.

Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something).

THINK of a number from 1 to 10 – got it?
scroll down until you see the next instruction

MULTIPLY that number by 9 – scroll down

If the number is a 2-digit number, ADD the digits together – scroll down

Now SUBTRACT 5 – scroll down

DETERMINE which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number

you ended up with (example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c,etc.) – scroll down

THINK of a country that starts with that letter – scroll down

THINK of the last letter of the name of that country – scroll down

THINK of the name of an animal that starts with that letter – scroll down

REMEMBER the last letter in the name of that animal – scroll down

THINK of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter – scroll down

Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange?

I told you this was FREAKY!! At least for me it was. If not for you, you’re among the 2% of the population whose minds are different enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark eating oranges when given this exercise. Freaky, huh?

      1*9=9
      2*9=18; 1+8=9
      3*9=27; 2+7=9
      4*9=36; 3+6=9
      5*9=45; 4+5=9
      6*9=54; 5*4=9
      7*9=63; 6+3=9
      8*9=72; 7+2=9
      9*9=81; 8+1=9
      10*9=90; 9+0=9

      It’s always going to be 9 – 5 = 4; 4 = D

A KOALA IN DENMARK EATING AN APPLE :) I’m part of the 2%, too. :>

    • Emma says:

Whoever didn’t get the letter D is doing something wrong; you will get the letter D no matter what number you choose. But Denmark isn’t the only country that starts with D, it’s just the most popular one.
@Doris: Dubai isn’t a country, it’s a city in the United Arab Emirates.
      @Yoli: ‘Dog’ doesn’t satart with a K.
@Melissa: Kiwi doesn’t start with the letter O.

    • nelvie says:

a koala in Denmark eating apple! :DD, so i’m part of the 2%!

    • Doris Beck Doris says:

Actually Eve Dubai is also a country that starts with the letter ‘D’ but most people would probably think of Denmark first which is why this works the way it does.

    • Eve says:

Seriously people need to learn to follow direction and use common sense. When anything multiplied by 9 the two digits will equal 9. If you subtract 5 then you get 4. Which corresponds with the letter D. The only COUNTRY that starts with D is Denmark and the most popular animal that ends with K is Kangaroo. Orange is the most common fruit that starts with a O. And thus you have your answer.

    • Shelley says:

I got and ANTin Canada eating and no fruit with the letter T.

    • Kathleen says:

a Leopard in Israel eating a durian. I was watching a show about leopard attacks in Israel, so I think its funny that I thought of a # that lead me to the letter “i” (first I thought of 7, then changed it to 2, both would have given me an “i”) I had to look up the fruit though, I couldn’t think of a fruit that started with a “d” on my own.

    • vikram says:

I didn’t think of denmark, orange & kangaroo.. upto getting ‘D’ it was right… then instead of denmark I thought of Dubai.. & I don’t think theres any animal name starting with I….
