Be Diligent in Prayer

Author Jeannie St. John Taylor* was close to panic. Her son Tevin was due to arrive home from Iraq. But he wasn’t on the plane! His friends and fiancee were anxious as well.

Tevin was good at corresponding with his family. So the lack of word from her son sent Jeannie to her knees. She prayed and watched the news for the next 24 hours.

During this hectic time, Jeannie closed her eyes to enter God’s familiar, sweet presence. She likes to think of prayer as relaxing into the arms of Jesus. And God answered her prayer when Tevin arrived home safely.

Friend, when danger is all around… And you fear for yourself or your loved ones… There’s only one place to turn…
To the throne of God.

It’s only in His sweet presence we can find real peace.

* Prayer warrior and author Jeannie St. John Taylor lives with her husband of nearly 30 years on a small working farm in the middle of Portland, Oregon. A professional artist, as well as a mother and former teacher with a master’s degree, Jeannie is uniquely qualified to craft children’s books. In her spare time, she works as a private investigator for her husband’s financial investigation company.

    Prayer!
My son is on a Mission trip to New Zealand. His phone card is not working properly. He can only call if someone lets him use their calling card or one of his trip leaders let him use their cell phone.
I feel he is safe and I know this because I am praying for him and the whole team’s safety while spreading the Word.
He may only call once every 2 weeks but when I hear his voice, I know he is well and doing what the Lord would have him to do. He is only 16. This is his second trip, last year he went to Romania.
I was sent a book on how to pray…now I am going to read it and be faithful in prayer in all things.
    Thanks for this devotional.

I believe that God can take the bad things that happen in our lives and make them for our good. I know that there has been many things happen to me that I did not understand and later in life, God showed me the reason for it. I believe that He knows all about us and what is going to happen before we do. He is Soveriegn. Bless His Name.
