“For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it: it will certainly come and will not delay” (Habakkuk 2:3).
In Old Testament days people longed for the Messiah to be revealed; now we long for the day when He will return. Though it is hard to wait, Christmas is a good time to remember that God has ordained all our days, and His plan and purpose will prevail.
God appointed the time for the Jesus, our Savior to be born.
“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). See also Isaiah 7:14.
God appointed the time for His plan of salvation to be revealed.
“They killed Him by hanging Him on a tree, but God raised Him from the dead on the third day and caused Him to be seen… [Jesus] commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name” (Acts 10:39, 40, 42, 43).
God appointed the time for you to live.
“From one man He made every nation of men that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17:26-27).
God appointed the time when Jesus will come again.
“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand there looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11). See also Matthew 13:32.
Holy God, thank you that Your purpose will prevail. You have planned when and where I would live so that I would come to know You. Help me to wait patiently for Your appointed time. Amen.

Amen! and Amen! In addition, let us not forget why God created this plan of salvation…which is because He loved us unconditional. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16 NKJV)

When i read the Old Testament and see how God meant business with those who refused to listen to the prophets, i am in awe. He did what He said. He kept His own word. This is authority like no other. This is the way i want to be…have boundries and keep my word at all time. It’s hard as a human to do this yet i remind myself i have the same resurrection power inside of me as did Jesus Christ. i have a choice…my way or His…with my free will i choose to do things His way. i get excited when i awake in the morning knowing i am one day closer to either the end of this garbage pail world or to sitting on the lap of Jesus Himself. Closer to the end of pain and suffering. i hope i’m alive to see Him come in the clouds b/c it’s going to be the most spectacular time that ever happened. If i’m not, it will still be a glorious time of peace and warmth to be escorted off by the angels into the presence of a God who was always there for me even when i didn’t believe it. i’m looking SO forward to His Promise to return.
