Students’ Lives Changed for Eternity
[Shared via Sean Cullen]
September is now drawing to a close. Over the past few weeks, students have been engaging with the life-changing message of Jesus on campuses all across Canada. Great things are happening. We praise God for how He is bringing students to us who are spiritually interested. Here are a few of their stories…
Wes, P2C staff at the University of Calgary, helping to launch P2C at Mount Royal University shares:
Three years ago at the University of Calgary, Funmi gave her life to Jesus. This fall, Funmi participated in survey follow up at Mount Royal University. She and P2C staff, Steph, contacted Esther. Esther had responded to a survey expressing interest to meet someone from P2C. Esther brought a friend named Joy along to the appointment. As it turned out, Funmi, Esther and Joy were in fact childhood friends and shared some common negative experiences. Esther expressed that she had previously struggled to put Jesus first in her life. Joy recognized she didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus. Funmi and Steph shared the gospel and both girls expressed that Jesus was who they were looking for. Funmi prayed with them to invite Jesus into their lives! This week, Funmi and Steph are meeting with Esther and Joy for more follow up.
One thousand seven hundred students were surveyed at the University of Saskatchewan, and among them was Victoria. Charlotte, P2C staff in Saskatoon shares about Victoria:
She has dabbled in Mormonism, Buddhism, Native spirituality, and now she wants to discover Jesus. She wants to be a Christian, but thinks that God won’t accept her because she smokes. Victoria is coming to our Summit retreat this weekend.
Our Traveling Expansion Team (4 interns and 1 staff) is just finishing up a few weeks at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). Last week, they saw a student make a decision for Christ!
On Thursday morning, Julie and Desmond talked with a female student at UTM. She had accidentally come too early for class. As they got to know her, they found out that not only had a Christian friend of hers told her a bit about the Bible, but also that she was incredibly open, spiritually, and interested in talking about Jesus. They had the chance to share the gospel with her, and when Julie asked her if she wanted to start a relationship with Jesus, she said yes!
I hope this encourages you. So far, we’ve surveyed 22,556 students. We have started with the contacts who are spiritually “hot” and are moving into connecting with those who are “medium” and “mild”. Follow up is complete for 1,931 of the students who requested further engagement. Over 16,000 students have received a digital engagement. 13 students have made decisions for Christ. Pray for us as we continue to follow up with thousands more in the coming weeks.

Praise God that so many students are being reached for Christ! I pray that many more come to know Him in an intimate, personal relationship as their Lord and Saviour for the glory of God the Father and that they may know abundant life and freedom in Jesus! Amen.
