The Family That Ministers Together
Jesus’ call to spread His love is universal. We don’t have to be wise or strong or powerful. Big and small, we are all a part of His Kingdom.
Since the beginning of the Soul Cravings Community Centre project (an initiative of Breakthrough Prayer), Marcia and her family have been avid supporters. As they drive through Douglas Park, Langley’s inner city neighbourhood, on the way to school every day, they pray together for the people of the area and the eventual establishment of Breakthrough Prayer’s own community centre location. Marcia also meets weekly with a group of ladies to pray for the local school.
The Breakthrough Prayer team does outreach in this community on a monthly basis, offering free haircuts, hand care, and prayer. Marcia and her family are regular volunteers. While Marcia cuts hair, her eldest daughter Karis cleans the tools between cuts, Luke and Arianna play with the children who attend, and Yerik has his own special ministry giving candy out to the guests. Marcia’s husband Dave has also been part of the security team on occasion.
Little Yerik shared that he likes being part of the outreach because it makes the people happy and that makes him happy.
Marcia’s family reminds us that there are no limits to the ways we can serve God and share His love.
Breakthrough Prayer is committed to offering opportunities to contribute to the Great Commission to people of all ages, giftings, and skills. For more information on how you can volunteer, contact us at info@breakthroughprayer.com.
