Do you remember the first time you played your sport? What did that feel like? Was it fun? Why did you keep playing? Was it the friendships, the competition or that you simply enjoyed it? It’s ok to simply enjoy sport, that’s one of the reasons it exists. Have you lost your enjoyment of sport? Is it a burden at times? When did that happen? Why did it happen? I’m willing to bet it was when you started feeling pressure to win and you lost. Pressure can discourage us but it can also drive us forward, it can help us focus in that crucial moment. How should we deal with this feeling called pressure?
