God Loves Us

Written by M. Larson

Do you feel that God will not forgive you for the terrible things you have done? We invite you to share with us.

Jessica looked down at her twisting fingers as the Christian counselor spoke to her about God’s way of salvation. “But you don’t know all the terrible things I’ve done!” Jessica exclaimed. “How can God love me? How can He want to forgive my sins and receive me into His family?”

The counselor looked at her compassionately and took one of the girl’s hands into her own, replying, “In John 3:16 Jesus said, ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.'”

Showing the Scripture to Jessica in her Bible, the counselor asked, “Now who all is included among those God loves?”

“Why, everybody, I guess!”

“And to whom will God grant forgiveness and everlasting life?”

“Well, to whoever believes in Him!” exclaimed Jessica, her eyes lighting up. “Oh, yes, I want to receive Him as my Savior right now!”

Truly the love God showed through giving His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, was the greatest love that anyone could ever have or show.

Father God,
I accept Your love for me and ask You to forgive my sins and come into my life. Thank you that You have promised to build something beautiful from the broken pieces of my life. Thank you for new life in Jesus. Amen.

Questions: Have you accepted Jesus’ love for you? Have you accepted His forgiveness and invited Him to share the journey of life with you? If you have done that today, won’t you share it with us here on the blog.
