“And He will be the stability of your times” (Isaiah 33:6 (NASB).

Read Isaiah  33:2-6

After years of living in Washington State we were pulling up roots and leaving strong family ties and friendships behind. To prepare our two-year old daughter for the move, I talked to her about the upcoming changes. “We’ll get a new home, make new friends, and find a new church.”

Her response startled me. “Will we get a new God, too?”

I chuckled inside. “No,” I reassured her, “that’s the one thing that won’t change. We’ll always have the same God. God never changes.”

I felt comforted as I thought about my answer to her question. Yes, God would remain the same. He would be my stability during the move and all the upcoming changes. Just as He met our needs in Seattle, He would meet them in San Diego. I could depend on Him to go with us and lead us.

O God, I praise You that You never change. Whatever I face, I’m secure in Your hands. What a comfort! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Questions: Are you facing changes in your life today? Our changeless God offers stability in each new situation. Will you trust Him with your changes right now?

Wow! What a blessing I so needed this article of all days today – and of all days to join thelife.com; today! My husband and I have been houseparents at a children’s home for almost 16 months now. After realizing we are just BURNT out! We also realized that my husband needed to go back to college to complete his four-year (12 years ago he partied too much) and did not finish. Therefore, after much prayer we have decided for him to return full-time while I work full-time we go Wednesday to sign paperwork for the apartment. Money will be tight but my God shall provide! thank you – such a timely message!

That was cute and so impacting. How many times have we responded in our circumstances that if our GOD is is nolonger the same? Makes you think.

Thanks Lydia for the great devotional!

    Good morning dear ones,
I can tell you from personal experience what it was like moving away from family and friends. We moved to Australia 14 years ago. Without God it wouldn’t have been possible for me. Yes, there were very lonely times at first and it took a great deal of time to settle and make new roots but I without a doubt I know that God was with me through it all. Before I left the States God gave me a word in Proverbs 3:5,6 and I have held onto that promise every time I found it difficult. We have a God who is with us to the very end of every challenge we face. The help comes when we believe that He is always working for our good. Praying you are all well today…and Sharon, will be praying throughout the day for your cousin’s husband. Love to you all from here, Donna

Your Daily inspirations help me make it through the day. How comforting to know God is always there, and will never change amidst our changing times. We really are in a depression and I pray my husband will find a new job after his layoff. Thanks.

Jesus never fails Jesus never fails, Heaven and earth may pass away, but Jesus never fails. Yesterday today forever Jesus is the same, all may change but Jesus never, Glory to his name!
i am not particulary facing any changes! at the moment!
I am still working at living the change without my mom about 3 years ago! I turn 50 on Friday and I am thinking I am okay! I will survive, I am adjusting!

  • Lydia says:

Lord Jesus, thank you for your changeless love and care for each of us. No matter what we face, you remain unchanged. Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today , and forever. That comforts me as I think of my grandchildren. Just as you were the stability for my grandparents, you’ll be the stability for my grandchildren.
Thank you for each reader. Touch each of their lives with your changeless love and grace today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
    Blessings,
    Lydia

Hello, I am Lydia’s daughter who asked if we’d get a new God when I was 2. Well, that was more than 30 years ago and I still have the same God! I am so thankful that He never changes. Blessings and prayers to you Mugs, Nora, swilliamsfch, and Sharon as you move forward through changing circumstances. May God be your Rock and your Redeemer.

Thank you, Lydia, for today’s devotional. Such a simple question you asked, Anita. One which your mom was able to provide a reassuring answer to you . . . and 30 years later to us through a devotional. Yes, the bible states God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
We left our home town due to a new job for my husband, leaving behind our family, friends, home where our children grew up and the job I had. That was almost 10 years ago. After about a year, I had a stroke caused by an antibody in my blood and things really changed then. Donna, the one scripture that I could remember and kept repeating was Proverbs 3:5 & 6.
Yes, God is good! God is faithful . . . God is the same whether here or there.

Sharon, I am lifting you cousin’s husband up in prayer. Give us and update when you hear how it went. Blessings to you.
