Are you lonely in your relationship? Talk to us.
“Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not obey you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you” (Jeremiah 7:27, NKJV).
God told Jeremiah right up front, that in spite of him being obedient and declaring the Word of God to Israel, they would not listen. Jeremiah must have wondered what the point of speaking was if no one was going to listen anyway. Do you ever feel like that?
Has there been a time when it seems like you have been obedient to what God has asked you to do and yet there seems to be no response or visible outcome? You have put yourself out, taken a risk, maybe even looked a little foolish, and nobody takes any notice or shows any signs of interest in God? It can make you feel like just throwing up your hands and thinking “what’s the use in trying, nobody cares?”
Here at Power To Change we have a saying, “Share your faith in the power of the Holy Spirit and leave the results with God.”
It is good for us to remember that our part is to obey and witness through words and demonstration, God is the one who does the saving. If we don’t speak it or live it, then others can’t see or hear it. Once they have heard it, whether they respond or not, the gospel has gone out to them and they are responsible for what they have heard.
Simply put, if I can answer “yes” to the question “did I do what God asked me to do?” then His answer to me is “Well done good and faithful servant,” regardless of what the outcome looks like to us.
“Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; Yet surely my just reward is with the Lord and My work with my God” (Isaiah 49:4, NKJV).
“Yet if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul” (Ezekiel 3:19, NKJV).

very good and powerful reminder- thanks.
I’ve talked to my family and my close friends about the goodness of Jesus and 1 person has accepted Him as their Personal Savior. And it used to be very discouraging to share my passion and love for God with people and then they would go about their business as if nothing happened. But I’ve come to remind myself that “The Battle is the Lord’s” and I must be obedient like Jeremiah. It shows me that I have to do my part and God will do His part.
My faith needs to be stronger, and my walk w/ Jesus more regular. I need to be in the Word more often. the world can be out of control, and it may get to me sometimes, but I need to go directly to God when that happens. Even when I’m following Him, the world tries to get to you, and it will. Every single day can be a battle. I’ll just say trust me on that. Thanks for this reminder about my Christian walk… I want to be more like Jesus. I want to always remind myself to do everything the way He did. It really can be so difficult when we’re faced with unfaithful, and evil people every single day. It’s gonna be a long weekend 4me, but no worries here; I’m giving it all to my Lord and Savior.
I’ve been walking with the Lord for a little over three years now and I can’t fathom not having God in my life. I will admit freely that I sometimes get discouraged in this relationship. I sometimes feel I’m not giving all of my heart to God. I get very impatient with myself. I can’t understand when I know that I will never understand. It’s not for me to understand Him, simply love Him and obey His commandments. If I knew the cause of these ‘dry spells’, would I not do everything in my power to repair the discouragement? All I know is that my time is not God’s time so each day that I rise, I just know that with an open heart I will learn one more thing about God. I persevere, and when I experience a ‘eye opening’ in Scripture, I’m elated and know that the Lord is nodding His head in acknowledgement. Don’t allow the ‘sometimes’ to become an ‘always’.
