>I basically chose my major by process of elimination. And, it’s a bonus that I get to play with cool machines and build fun things.
>A typical course load in engineering includes 20 hours of class, 5 to 8 hours of lab, and 10 hours of homework each week. It’s not the easiest field to be in and the difficulty of the classes are what I like least about being in engineering.
>Engineers rule the world. Everything was built by an engineer, whether he was trained as an engineer or not.
>When the Titanic sunk, engineers on the ship were wearing purple overalls. We’re carrying on that tradition. At our university, engineering students wear a golden-coloured faculty jacket — but most students die theirs purple.
Advice for engineering students:
>If you want to succeed in engineering, you need intelligence, social skills, and perseverance.
>Find a balance between your work and social life. Don’t spend all your time doing one thing. Get involved with school life — academics, clubs, sports, fun.
>My dream job would be to be aircraft designer.
>I would love to visit every continent on the globe one day. I’m particularly interested in traveling to Europe, because of all the heritage.
>I wanted to be everyone’s friend, and have everyone like me, especially in high school. So I became a good actor, trying to be the person I thought my friends wanted me to be, becoming a different person in different situations. By the end of high school, I didn’t really know who I was.
>Now that I’m at the end of university, I know who I am now. People actually like that I know who I am, and what I believe in. I learned how to express myself, to really be myself. No pressure. Everyone around me accepted that. I didn’t have to pretend.
>I think my best qualities are my sense of humour and honesty. My friends would probably say that I’m loyal and fun.
>My mom always told me to wear a seat belt. That’s the best advice I’ve received from her. My dad encouraged me to ask good questions and work at my degree… put 35 to 40 hours per week into school. So if you spend three hours in class, study for five.
>My room is a bit messy, but understood by me.
>In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar. Soccer and hockey are my choice sports. Barbeque ribs are to die for.
The most influential movie I’ve seen has got to be Wayne’s World!
