It sounds as though the much ballyhooed United States stimulus deal will soon be passed, to the tune of somewhere between $819 billion and $838 billion. (Give or take a few billion.)
It’s hard for me to even mentally grasp that amount of money. For the sake of comparison, $800 billion would be enough to build approximately 12 million Habitat for Humanity homes.
What would use you such an incomprehensible amount of money to do?
The intent of the stimulus is to fix the economy. But right now what the average citizen needs most is the assurance of hope. The President has “warned that the nation’s economic crisis could become a “catastrophe” if the government does not act quickly on a plan to create jobs and revive the economy.” What if the stimulus fails? Where will our hope be?
A story of hope, “Facing AIDS with Hope“, was written some time ago about relief work in South Africa. Its message may be worth considering during difficult times of our own.

UNNES, I hope that after you get your car, you will spend the rest dealing with the ills and needs around this hurting planet! The article mentions Habitat for Humanity and the AIDS epidemic but those are only two of the unmet problems we have. Drugs and sex-trafficking are taking a horrible toll on humanity and these need to be dealt with swiftly.
