Just heard you’re having a baby? The realization that you will soon become a parent can be a joyous but also extremely anxious time of life. “I’m going to be a parent?” you may think. “I can barely take care of myself, how can I take care of a baby?!”

At least you’re not alone in having butterflies. Joan Giesbrecht for example describes how “I Wasn’t Ready to be a Grandma!” but nevertheless was able to overcome her trepidation, with a little help. Eventually she could honestly say “When the time came, I was totally ready to be a Grandma.”
