Many people think that science and faith tell conflicting stories about how the universe began. But they might not be as different as you think. Scientists speak of a definite moment of creation in a vast cosmic explosion (the ‘Big Bang’), which had to be carefully adjusted for human life to be possible. Far from conflicting, the scientific picture may point us towards a supernatural creator God. What really happened back in the beginning? This is the first of a eight-part video series exploring how cosmic fine-tuning points towards the reality of a creator God.

Scientific discoveries seem to point to a beginning of the universe and a designer. Unfortunately most don’t realize that all physicists have to begin their theories based on their presuppositions and worldviews. They also declare things to be true on pain of convention; therefore, their findings, evidences they include or exclude will be based on their biases. There are no brute facts to observe in the universe especially when dealing with the past and the origins. Their theories take as much faith as do many theological views. Knowledge is a justified true belief and religious theories are on par with scientific theories and NOT inferior to science. I would go one step further and say that a physicist is nothing more than a philosopher with a slide-rule.
