Life as a Communication Student:
>I decided to major in Communication only in my second year after realizing that I wasn’t enjoying the Visual Art program.
>The best thing about being a student in Communication is that most of the material is interesting. It is such a broad field that you are bound to find something you like!
>You must enjoy writing and be able to work well with others if you want to do well in Communication.
>Once I was in university I was forced to think about my goals and I realized that all I was looking forward to was graduation and finding the right career. Soon enough I began to seek more meaning in life.
>The best thing about my life in university so far is the community that I’m part of. I’ve met some great people on campus. Also, the view from my favourite school cafeteria Raven’s is pretty sweet.
>The hardest thing about university life is that there isn’t too much to do on campus since it’s on a mountain!
>Coffee is a good friend.
>Community is very important so get involved in a club on campus.
>8:30a.m. tutorials should be illegal.
>Doing the readings makes the class so much more interesting.
>Majoring in something you don’t enjoy becomes a burden really fast!
>Procrastination is a really hard habit to kill.
>Being myself means being the same person regardless of who is with me or what situation I may be in.
>I am someone who likes to think about the ways of God and people, and why they act the way they do. I’ve found that people are so prone to thinking that they’ve got everything figured out but I think it’s only God who actually does.
>Someone who has left a deep impression on my life is my good friend Mindy. She invested a lot of time and love into our friendship and I was deeply impacted by it.
>I absolutely delight in music! My dream is to be able to write my own music so that I can share with others the love of God that I have experienced.
>I would love to meet the singer Jennifer Knapp – she writes beautiful music and I could learn so much from her!
>I love singing and playing my guitar or just sitting there thinking. I’d hate to be without music! I especially like jazz, folk/rock, soul, R&B, and new country.
>I like white lilies, cafés, the smell of damp earth after a rainy day, beautiful BC, Italian food and Jim Carrey.
>Describe your room: It’s small and tidy and my double bed takes up 3/4 of it. It’s also quite bright and has a lot of IKEA stuff in it.
>Food I would consider dying for: The last piece of Lindt chocolate
